I'm Michaela Jones
NUTRITIONAL THERAPIST & NUTRITION COACH
Like many people, I’ve discovered the importance of nutrition and stress management when I encountered health issues that medical doctors couldn’t explain or help with. Up to that point, I had lived on a typical Western diet full of high fat/high sugar processed foods, caffeine, alcohol and huge amounts of diet coke in an attempt to avoid weight gain.
In my late forties, I developed rosacea. The next five years I was prescribed different antibiotics to try and keep this condition under control, with limited success. My health deteriorated, and ibuprofen became a staple to get me through the day. Things took a turn for the worse when I developed idiopathic urticaria (swelling) of my eyelids. Each attack became worse and took longer to subside. Working in a client facing role my stress and anxiety levels went through the roof. I saw specialists, undertook a wide range of tests, but no one could work out what was happening to me.
discovering the link between micronutrients, your microbiome and gut health
It was at this point that I felt I had to help myself. Delving into the research I discovered the link between micronutrients, your microbiome and gut health, stress management and its impact upon health. This started me on a long and slow journey to change my eating and lifestyle habits.
On occasions, I still struggle with skin rashes, rosacea flare ups, or aches and pains. However, I can honestly say, that I feel more energetic, healthy and happy in my body than I have in my earlier years.
On occasions, I still struggled with skin rashes, rosacea flare ups, or aches and pains. But overall felt more energetic, healthy and happy in my body than in my earlier years.
But then, life threw me a curveball...
At the end of 2023 I was diagnosed with inoperable stage 2 cervical cancer which meant two months of intensive treatment. It was tough but it did its job of dealing with the cancer. But the harsh treatment and strong medications, wrecked my digestion, bladder health, immune system, ability to cope with stress. Everything I believed about metabolic health (no grazing like cows) had to be thrown out to cope with the treatment.
Luckily, I started from a strong base and with my nutrition knowledge and support from some of my peers, I’ve come out the other end relatively unscathed within a matter of months. But this experience was a big reminder that without a well-functioning digestive system, there is no health. In the end you are not what you eat, but what you are able to absorb.
I WANT TO EMPOWER TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH WHATEVER LIFE THROWS AT YOU AND LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE YET.

My Approach
OUR BODIES ARE AWESOME AND ALWAYS TRY TO DO THE BEST FOR US TO ENSURE OUR SURVIVAL
We are all unique individuals which means what works for one person may not work for another. My approach is food first and making your nutrition and lifestyle plan personalised and realistic. This means lots of plants, farm to table, minimal processing and sustainability – adding in gut-friendly foods and regular fasts for wider health benefits. I believe it’s about progress not perfection. Small sustainable changes made consistently over time will lead to big results. I have experienced this for myself and see this time and time again in clinic.
